Theresa E. Cocci holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education and a music Minor from Kutztown University and is a certified instructor in Musikgarten and First Steps in Music. Professional affiliations include Past-President forthe Reading Music Teachers Association and is currently serving as second vice-president, membership in the Music National Association, Pennsylvania Music Teachers Association and is a member at large of the Philadelphia Area Orff Association. Ongoing education includes enrollment in professional development workshops and graduate course work in early childhood music and completion of Level I Orff Certification . For the past 16 years, Theresa has operated a private piano studio and continues to study professionally; she has 18 years of classroom instruction in various school districts. Currently she isemployed by the Yocum Institute of the Arts, the Albright Learning Center and Community UCC Preschool. She also is a Certified Instructor for the Pennsylvania Quality Assurance Program or PQAS and provides in-service presentations for early childhood instructions. The goal of the First Steps in Music studio is to provide children and family's musical opportunities that offer age appropriate activities which will encourage overall development in the young child.
